Miler Lagos – ‘Rings of time’ in ‘Forest Through the trees’ Laumeier Sculpture Park. St Louis, Missouri. Curated by Dana Turkovic, this exhibition reflects on landscapes and trees, and includes Miler Lagos piece 'Rings of Time'. Lagos’ work will be on show this week at ARTBO 22, in which the Gallery will be participating in Booth C7. ‘Anillos del tiempo (Rings of time)’ is a series of collages created from 400 copies of the same page of a Newspaper. The origin of this piece lies in the rings that can be seen inside the trunk of a tree once it is cut. These not only reveal the age of the tree, but also provide information about the environmental conditions that affected the trunk through time. The arrangement of the pages evokes the concentric circles that time engraves in trees, turning them into archives of information and witnesses of memory. La obra de Miler Lagos será mostrada esta semana en ARTBO 22, dónde la galería estará presente en el stand C7. ‘Anillos del tiempo’ es una serie de collages creados a partir de 400 copias de la misma página de un periódico. La idea surgió de los anillos que se hacen visibles en el tronco de un árbol cuando es cortado. Estos no sólo revelan la edad del árbol, sino que también aportan información sobre las condiciones ambientales que han afectado al tronco en diferentes momentos del tiempo. La disposición de las hojas de periódico evoca los círculos concéntricos que el tiempo graba en los árboles, convirtiéndolos en archivos de información y testigos de la memoria #MilerLagos #laumeiersculpturepark
