I’m in the 🚐💨van with @brewhiker driving to San Diego and I’m thinking it’s time to tell our kitty story! Throwback to my birthday in January, my boss and I had a studio visit with a local Silver City artist. Afterwards, we chatted on the stoop for a few moments when some folks near the coffee shop waved us over. (That’s how it is in Silver - it’s not too long before you see someone you know on the streets🤗.) Some small talk later and this cheery man arrives on the scene with a 4-week old kitten in the armpit of his jacket. Then Matt @brewhiker arrives after finishing work early. The man said the kitty needed a good home... Thing is, Matt and I agreed that we wouldn’t commit to pets until we had a mortgage. But something felt different about that whole day and interaction, like we were meant to be there. We caved and walked away from that coffee shop corner with Jerry in my jacket and a can of kitten formula in hand. 😻😻😻 The last couple months have been a whirlwind as we try to start a business and Jerry is the cherry on top. The last slide is Jerry on his first backpacking trip in the Gila. Thanks to Paul for the sweetest birthday gift and showing me that I’m a kooky kitty lady after all.
