@puckerupnola has been encouraging me for years to come to @essencefest. And this year I decided I wasn’t going to just come to @essencefest I wanted to *DO* something for @essencefest. And to do so as @knowyourcaribbean I wanted Caribbean culture to be seen and celebrated in a purposeful way and I wanted to do it in the biggest Black festival in the United States. It took a lot (and I mean ALOT) of work, coordination, and depending on a supportive community of people from the Caribbean, Africa, UK, and USA to make it work.
