Escapism is a difficult enough thing to to achieve in London - especially in Central London. Everything is just so - BUSY. But located mere yards away from St. Paul’s Cathedral lies the newly opened @lostpropertystpauls hotel, where you step inside and it feels like you’re crossing into Diagon Alley or something similar and magical. The exterior is deceivingly small, however after checking in at the beautiful reception (complete with lighting made with hand-blown Moreno glass flown in from Italy) you walk further into the building, slowly realising how deep the hotel goes. And then? Silence. The ethos here is all about celebrating the things that end up lost. Whether it be Moreno glass (hand-blown glass is slowly becoming a lost art, hence why they are so expensive), Bouillabaisse followed by a Baked Alaska, and even photos of Dodos, Bowler hats and things they have since slipped away into tradition and legacy, this hotel is all about bringing those things to thr surface. It’s so quiet here. Silence. I’ve been able to get so much work done in their coffee shop next door too, featuring the infamous Monmouth roast. Also? Gold accents everywhere? A beautiful touch of luxe. It warms my Taurus heart. I highly recommend if you’re looking to escape for a day or two. [press visit]
