Demi Lovato recently discussed their shifting feelings about their gender identity in an interview on the Spout podcast, a show dedicated to celebrity interviews. “I’ve actually adopted the pronouns of she/her again with me,” Demi said, adding that she is a “fluid person.” It’s important to note that both “they” and “she,” in that order, have been included in her bio on Instagram since April and at no point in the interview did Lovato say she was dropping the use of “they/them.” Plenty of media outlets, however, have framed this as Lovato definitively changing her pronouns “back” to “she/her,” rather than adding a new set of pronouns to more accurately describe her gender.
