Designers likeHeron Preston, Ambush, Kid Super & Axel Arigato have been teaming up with the men behind all of this. Designer, Daniel Bailey & Engineer, Cornelius Schmitt to start creating a sustainable 3D sneaker to help achieve Schmitt’s goal of getting a 3D shoe on every persons feet around the world & Preston’s goal of not sending waste to landfills by 2030. The process behind the shoe is when the sneakers start to wear out. The owner can send it back to have the material broken down and re used to fix the shoe or give the shoe a new design, which will be sent back to you. So you technically only own one pair of shoes. This is one of the most effective ways to reduce fashion’s environmental footprint & to increase product lifetimes. This will usher the footwear industry into a future where creatives can independently realise their footwear concepts in a tangible, and commercially viable form. ®
