Plugging into The Matrix in Dubai. Do you like my setup? @asus_middleeast Very excited to be back on Social Media! I’ve been offline for most of the year rethinking the way I work and how I make content. The last 18 months in Dubai has been non stop. Project after project but not the type of work I want to be doing. I’ve also felt that Social Media has become repetitive. Where’s the inspiration guys? 🤷🏽‍♂️ More original thinking and creativity needs to be coming out of this region. From the creators that live here, to the companies, brands and platforms too. Dubai is a dream destination for shooting content but I’m not seeing people pushing the boundaries or coming up with new big and bold ideas. Why? I’m going to be questioning that over the coming months, and putting in focused time & effort to drive change. I’d love to see more people picking up their phones or cameras with purpose and intent behind what they’re going to create. There’s too much copycatting & complacency on Social Media right now. This project with @asus_middleeast is the start of a new way of executing for me in the region. Working with a brand that allows me to focus on passion & creativity first. It’s been a very refreshing change. When you have passion for what you do you go the extra mile and the output speaks for itself. Passion allows you to come up with big bold ideas and you don’t stop until they’re done. This is just a teaser post of what’s going to come over the coming days. Tomorrow I’ll be pulling an “All-Nighter” 12 hour Live Stream from this futuristic workstation as I push the @asus Pro Art Studiobook to its limits. I thought I’d have some fun with inspiration from The Matrix. Rather than use a trending song I decided to create one. I scrubbed through the movie to find the perfect quote and then merged that with the opening “matrix code” sound design from the film. The feeling I’m going for here is disbelief, questioning whether this is real. It is. Thought this sound could be picked up and used by anyone during their travels as they highlight somewhere that looks unreal. Try to create trends don’t always follow them 😉.
