You won’t believe this San Francisco home with $70,000 wallpaper and Golden Gate Bridge views!!! It’s located in Russian hill overlooking ghirardelli square on Chestnut street. NOTE: This is a tour of only the top owner’s unit of the entire three unit building that is for sale. The middle unit is tenant occupied and the lower unit is empty. You can buy just the top unit for $5 million or the entire building for $12.7 million. I didn’t tour the middle unit but in old photos I found online the layout looks similar to the top just without all the beautiful details. The home was built in 1940 but the owners have spent decades adding all of the mouldings and details that make it feel historic. I was also shocked to hear that the amazing Zuber wallpaper in the primary suite is hand blocked and was part of a limited commissioned by the New York Metropolitan Art Museum (The met). It’s worth $70,000.!!!! 🤯 The top unit has three bedrooms and THREE bathrooms (I completely missed one when I toured it 😅) The decor also goes to show design trends are truly timeless. My Instagram feed is full of gilded mirrors, colorful painted rooms, crystal chandeliers and black and white checked tile, oil paintings in gold frames, and bold wallpaper! What’s old is truly new again. The building also has an overgrown backyard that has a lot of landscaping potential. This home is by appointment only (no open houses) so contact listing agent from Nick Chen from Coldwell Banker for a tour.
