This holiday used to trigger me but honestly now that my dad has passed Im choosing to celebrate it- I talk to him through the butterfly that dances at the end of my driveway everyday and am certain it is him- Never thought his death would actually bring us closer but it absolutely has- 🦋 Also thinking about my stepdad and feeling grateful for how our relationship has blossomed over time- Lucky to have grown alongside him over the past 25 years- we have come a long way 💛 Of course I’m thinking of @universalorder too, who may not be a dad to an actual human but who has been the best freaking dad to our dogs for the past 13 years- it brings me to tears 🥹 And really thinking about the families torn apart by ICE and this hateful, racist, fascist government who is ruining so many people’s lives- If you are grieving and simultaneously full of rage you are absolutely not alone.
