STRETCHING and MOVEMENT . During rest days between diving, I like to stretch, do some light yoga, visualization, meditation, breathing exercises, and also enjoy a nice cup of coffee ☕️ 😊 Stretching and movement is good for the body because it: * It keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy * Increases vascular health, increasing blood flow to the muscles * Decreases risk of injury * Improves performance during physical activity, enabling the muscles to work more effectively * It has also been shown to increase serotonin levels, which helps to stabilize our mood, reduce stress, helping to decreasing depression and anxiety It helps to keep mobility and movement, but is also not too strenuous so that I still maintain energy, especially if I plan to do a big dive the next day. . This was taken on a rest day during training for this past Vertical Blue competition. . I usually keep eucalyptus oil by my side during these stretching and breathing sessions.
