It’s time for my New Year beauty predictions! I feel like I was pretty spot-on with my predictions last year. Buckle up—this series is coming in multiple parts. 🤓 ——- 2026 Beauty Predictions part 1: kids skincare + makeup We’ve had baby and kids’ beauty brands for a long time, but there has always been a clear line between cosplay-style products—things that function more like costume makeup—and functional baby or kids’ skincare focused on hygiene or protection. What feels genuinely new in the U.S. is seeing kids’ skincare brands that are meant to be playful but are marketed using the same visual language and brand-building playbook as adult beauty. That’s what’s really driving the cultural reaction here. Globally, though, this isn’t new—it’s just new to America. In Korea, for example, this category has existed for years. Kids’ sun compacts, cleansing wipes, face masks, and similar products are widely accepted as a way to start teaching children how to care for their skin while also introducing them to the ritual of skincare itself. It’s framed less as beauty and more as habit-building. As the category continues to take shape in the U.S., I think we’ll see more kids’ skincare brands emerge that enter through play and education first, and over time, move into more mainstream beauty retail environments like Ulta and Sephora. I’m curious what you think. Let me know! #beautypredictions2026 #kidskincare #shaymitchell #beauty #skincare
