Happy 5 Year Anniversary to REBEL SEOUL & to me, as a published author!! 💛💛 I can’t believe it’s already been 5 years since RS published, the book that taught me what it means to be an author and gave me perspective, strength, and peace. This book, which is set in a dystopian future version of Korea, is actually my ode to Korea’s past as a country of resilience & fighting spirit. Back in 2014, I submitted REBEL SEOUL for @leeandlow’s annual New Visions Award. The prize for winning was publishing under their imprint Tu Books. RS released in 2017 with multiple starred reviews, and both it and it’s sequel, ROGUE HEART, were Junior Library Guild selections. AND *drumroll please* 5 years after it’s publication in hardcover, it will release THIS winter in paperback!!! (Either late 2022 or early 2023). ALSO the audiobook will release around the same time 🥹🥹. More news on both fronts soon but I’m just so excited and happy for more readers to discover Rebel Seoul & these characters—Jaewon, Tera, Ama, & Alex—who I’ve loved for so long 💛.
