Something I try to remind myself daily. Every time I notice my mind wandering down a dark lane .. “I’m not ..” “they did that because..” I try catch myself. Thoughts can be so loud and feel so real that we assume they are truth. Let this be a reminder that your thoughts are not always accurate. What we think is just our best assumption, and in a lot of cases our worst assumption of a situation. Key word: assumption.
Build questions into your thought process - especially when they are negative. Are these thoughts true? Am I taking this too personally? Is there another way of looking at this with love? Our internal critic is tough & god can it be loud. Before you let it run rampant & tell you why something happened / what’s going to happen .. notice that you’re listening. You’re not the one talking. And with that moment of separation we can choose listen to something else.
