SmoothStar replicates the surf feel because of our unique front truck component called the SmoothStar Thruster. The Thruster makes the front of the board loose so the board can turn while driving off the back trucks – the same as you would with surfboard rails and driving off the back fins... the feel on-land is the same rail-to-rail surfing sensation you get in the water. Our unique patented Thruster allows the SmoothStar to make tighter radius turns unlike a regular skateboard or other ‘surf skate’ products on the market. Turns are not stiff, sharp, or sloppy, they feel smooth but can be as radical as you like, while allowing the rider to come out of them with speed and power.
