Miyo Kîksîpâyâw nitotemwak! Good Morning my friends! Let the day come! ♾♾♾♾♾♾♾ Like my ancestors before me, I have been commissioned with providing safe passage across a vast expanse to new people from faraway places. They are explorers but they are not exploiters. They have come armed not with weapons or ideology, but with open hearts and minds. With a desire to meet, for the first time, again, the original peoples of this place that came to be called Alberta. This place I call, Kitaskinâw. Our land. They have come to learn. To experience. To see, feel and taste. To listen to the stories. To take part in ceremony. To ground their feet in the soil of these lands, which is to become grounded in who it is we all are. You. Me. We. We are the land. The land is us. There is a new longing or maybe it’s a need to better understand who we all are and perhaps to come to know at what intersection between our cultures was the wrong road taken. It is by gaining a better understanding of other cultures that we can gain a better understanding of our own. This is the spirit of treaty. This is relationship building. This is friendship. This is what we are trading in. This, good people, is @indigenous.tourism.alberta Tawâw my friends. Welcome back to the circle. There is room. ♾♾♾♾♾♾♾♾ 📷: Joe Urie I am very honoured and grateful to have been asked to guide a group of journalists around the province to enjoy what it is we have to offer.
