a hug. a verb. an action. it symbolizes both love & mercy. not always an easy task - especially when you’re hurt. yet, it is through this action. a hug. that we see a glimpse of Christ Himself. there’s a story in the bible called the prodigal son. a son who ran far from home. who did not want anything to do with his father. until one day, he comes back. broken & worn. needing help. needing guidance. needing His Father. He sees his father run to him, assuming that he’s about to get berated and what is he met with? a warm embrace. a forgiveness of sins. a welcome home. the prodigal son is met with a hug. we are that prodigal son. the Father? Jesus. there’s something beautiful that arises when two broken humans come together. tensions rising, potentially peaking. And during the tension, a hug is extended to the other. Because what happens? we feel a warm embrace, a forgiveness of sins, and a welcome home. we see Jesus. so that’s a hug. a verb. an action. a symbol of Christ. a hug. the same love extended to me by @cannechan everyday over this last year of our marriage. it has been and continues to be my greatest honor to love you & be loved by you. you are and always will be my standard of beauty. first year of marriage in the books, eternity to come. happy 1 year of marriage 我的爱.
