I saw this @ashleywilliamslondon bag (well, the hammerhead shark version) at Colette 11 years ago. It was my first week living alone in Paris, and I was held rapt by the excitement of my new ‘adult’ life which now included the possibility of having a handbag shaped like a shark. I was a teenager, and naturally I couldn’t afford anything at Colette, certainly not this very special accessory...so I went home and attempted to make my own bootleg version from a stuffed animal. I never shut up about the real deal, and years later it turned out my dear friend @laraletticejw had one in her possession. It took another five or so years of wheedling and pleading before a lumpen package arrived on my doorstep with this beauty inside. It brings me endless joy, and seemingly others too. Worth the chase. 🦈
