this one is blowing up again so i thought i’d introduce myself 👋 my name is adam j. kurtz and i’m a 33 year old artist and author from toronto now living in honolulu. i studied graphic design and had “normal” jobs in the industry until my hobby of making fun stuff like zines and merch on the side sort of became its own full time gig sometime in 2015. most of my work is just me talking to myself and then sharing it with others, so the perspective is very mentally ill gay jewish person (oops) but it turns out you can be anyone from any path and still feel self-doubt, fear of the unknown, and a desire to belong while finding a weird little backhanded optimism that somehow makes everything just hopeful enough to be okay. despite some accomplishments i’m super proud of, i largely work alone, creating art for myself and others, designing new products, and running my online shop. it is VERY HARD to do what you love and just when you think you’ve got it figured out, something else changes. but that’s life!!! your support of my work makes my whole life possible, whether you shop my site or just like my posts on this app and i’m grateful for you and grateful that this is somehow my life (for now) 💛
