'An Eternal State of Erasure: Subtraction as Awareness'
143 x 224 mm

‘An eternal state of erasure’ is my final dissertation that follows my interest in critical and emancipatory attitudes that seek change or alternatives to the current capitalist and neoliberalist models installed within society. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It does so by considering some of the very aspects of human nature that arguably turn these attitudes obsolete, as any provision of change seems impossible to imagine. As a result of this impotence that seems to be taking over the modern society, I attempt to define an alternative to these attitudes of resistance that dismiss change or merely provide with a brief moment of understanding that cease any lasting change. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The argument I try to formulate throughout is based on the idea of a constant renewal and contestation of what people seem to know, an alternative that is based on ambiguity and uncertainty, on a confrontational process with the self as we deal with and elucidate on the processes of the ‘unconscious’. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The reference to ‘building subtraction’ not only serves as a more tangible and physical representation of what is closer to our reality in order to establish a clear line of thought within a very abstract subject which is our human nature, but also as an analogy to the alternative way of thinking I attempt to define and term awareness.
