"emergence: visions" is named after the duet album "Visions" by American jazz artists Walt Dickerson and Sun Ra, and is made almost entirely from donated yarns.⁠ ⁠ Each painting in Davis' "emergence" series progresses through an instinctual process of listening and response—a practice stemming from the artist’s vocal and gestural training in improvisation.
