It’s so common that many locals call these visitors “tourons” (tourist+moron)🫢 one of the most frequent offenses is approaching wildlife, sometimes even wolves and bears. The bison may look cute and fluffy, but these are wild and potentially fatally dangerous animals. Don’t be a touron! Here’s how: 1. Keep 25 yards from all wildlife including elk, bison, moose, fox, etc 🦬 2. Keep 100 yards from bears and wolves 🐺 3. Always stay on the designated paths, trails, or boardwalks 4. Never take anything from the park ecosystem 5. Drive the posted speed limit within the park 6. Don’t stop to take photos on the road, make sure you pull off fully so as not to block traffic. Some areas you aren’t permitted to stop 🛑 7. Stay in your vehicle when passing wildlife closer than 25 yards
