Around this time last year, having just got back from London, my PCR test came back positive for COVID 😂 I spent the 1st Jan 2022 and the next 10-12 days in pure chaos - from cancelling jobs (which is terrifying for a freelancer) to getting prodded by a medical personnel in a hazmat suit for a blood sample, and finding my footing in isolation, all while experiencing violent chills. My brain fog was so bad I actually gave my debit card details to an e-scammer. 🫢 Nevertheless I tried to keep myself occupied so I can breathe in the pockets of silence. @wittenc had shipped over ceramic from Denmark as a gift but unfortunately it fractured on its way to Singapore. I was heartbroken but determined to mend it. I’m not particularly fantastic with arts and crafts, but with the help of @yangermeister_ (and Singles Inferno S1 😂) I was able to put the pieces back together. When the house was able to stand on its own, it looked somewhat odd and haunted 😅 so I was grateful that @reprezian took up the challenge of breathing some life and colour into it. When I held the finished piece in my hands, we were edging towards Christmas. Ironically, the entire process in rebuilding this ceramic house walked in parallel with me. The past 12 months moved in a way that was exciting and unnerving. I was grasping at straws sometimes. But I am reminded of @marialourdes_chan kind words - We mustn’t be afraid to step into our own light. We must shine bright. And that is perhaps what I will do moving forward.
