We partnered with creative studio @futuredeluxe to design a set of ceramics with algorithms. In our latest research paper we explore the tension between human intuition and computational procedures — envisioning the role of the designer in this brave new world of machine intelligence. Before we can sculpt new forms, we must first design our tools and define how each tool functions. Here, we use mathematical noise as a hand tool, adding and subtracting from the raw digital material to create a wide range of formal variations.
