It's been a WHILE since I introduced myself and seeing as I've gotten an influx of new followers recently (hello 🙋🏼‍♀️), I thought why not share a little about me in case you're new! Hey 👋🏻 my name's Jessica Moorhouse and I run my own financial education company called MoorMoney Media Inc. that focuses on educating predominantly millennials and Gen Z Canadians about how to budget, pay down debt, and invest their money so they can live a more financially free life. You see, what started as a personal finance blog I set up as a hobby back in Dec. 2011 (yup, almost 11 years ago!) evolved into my true passion and now career. But it was a wild journey to get here. I graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2009 with a degree in Film, worked in sales/marketing for 7 years, then almost 6 years ago quit the corporate world for good to do my own thing. So... what do I actually do? All things financial education really. I have a blog, YouTube channel, host the @moremoneypodcast, do public speaking across Canada and can be seen or heard sharing my money tips on national news outlets weekly. But what makes me an expert you ask? Besides being in the personal finance world for over a decade, I also have my Accredited Financial Counsellor Canada® designation, hold my Canadian Securities Course and Financial Services Advice certificates, and am trucking along working on getting my CFP. On the personal side, I'm originally from Vancouver, BC but have lived in Toronto, ON with my husband for 9 years now. I love trashy reality shows and period pieces, sleeping in, eating cake, travelling around the world, and am seriously considering getting a dog (even though I've been thinking about it for years, I think this is the year!).
