If you’ve ever spent a day with @jonathanelyashiv , you probably know all about him already. You’ve probably heard the kind of musical talent he’s worked for years to master. You’ve probably FELT how grooovy, how locked, his playing is. And you probably know these things not because he’s loud about it, but because its everything for him. This guy breathes music, and eats a healthy helping every day for breakfast lunch and dinner. You can’t be around him for very long and NOT see how incredible he is at all things music-related.
.
Many of us are fortunate to know him as a bass player, but a lucky few of us have been able to witness and be the beneficiary of his talent as a producer. Jon does it all himself - drums, bass, guitars, and the stacks on stacks of keyboards, all beautiful vintage 70’s gear that he’s repaired or refurbished himself - out of his studio in Brooklyn, NY. The guy even builds his own basses. I mean 🤷🏻♂️
.
In early June, I was one of those lucky few to get to sit down and work on some of my own music with him. He’s brought such life into those songs - which I’m incredibly excited to share later this year by the way, stay tuned - and the experience of working with him was so positive, so collaborative, and so fulfilling. Jon’s sweet spot is the whole, Beatles-60s-70s-rock-era thing, which if you know me, that’s just what I like. Needless to say, this collab was super fulfilling and musically satisfying -
.
So if you’ve got some music and you’re wondering how to make it happen, especially if you’re down to make some late 60’s rock madness, hit up @jonathanelyashiv - I cannot recommend his work highly enough.
