Gatsby Final Week Roundup Part 1 (of how many? idk... bear with me) January of 2024, I had just gotten back to NYC after a fabulous out of town tryout of “Boop!”, which we found out would be a guaranteed Broadway transfer... in 2025. I had just signed a new lease on my little dream apartment in a brownstone on the upper west side with a bay window (perfect for plants!) and thought “well... I just need to make ends meet to pay my rent until it’s Boop-time”. In my inbox came an appointment for “The Great Gatsby” on Broadway (Thank you @c12casting 💕). After ONE Sunday evening audition with this creative team, I left PRAYING that I would get the chance to work with @domkelley, @kringas57, @jasonhowlandmusic @cedricdodd_ , @kaitkerrigan @doctorpickles. Little did I know that booking the job was just the beginning of what has been an unbelievably fulfilling, joyous, and life changing experience. It all comes down to this *group*. When I’ve had the opportunity to meet people at the stage door, they always comment on what an incredibly close knit, goofy group this is (idk, personally i take myself very seriously...?) and it’s true. This whole ride has been about the people. The people onstage every night. The people backstage and in the pit who keep this gorgeous party roaring on. The creative team who specialize in putting together a room that will vibe and *understand the assignment*. The designers who have created literally the prettiest classic Broadway show ever. The top notch social media team-(can i get an amen? best in the biz) The FANS who have made this show a massive hit (Breaking the box office record for the Broadway Theatre? Hello?) The fact that other COUNTRIES will be doing our version of the show that we are so proud of while bringing their own sassy spin on it is just too cool to be true. Thank you, @bwaygatsby.
