🕊☁️ about a week ago we lost our grandfather. he was probably one of the funniest people i knew without trying to be. my grandpa was traditional and very matter of fact, rigid at times, but smart and calculated; walked around with his hands behind his back, always observing, but was the most loving and caring. when i was in college we would speak at least once a week and have the most random conversations. he never missed a birthday phone call and always made sure i got a card. any time i came to san francisco to visit, i would have to tell him to clear his schedule [because he was the busiest guy ever] and would write me into his calendar so he wouldn’t forget- he had the most impeccable handwriting. i remember i made a visit one month and didn’t give him a heads up- i didn’t end up seeing him because he had “plans.” 😂 we would go out on the town together, had many lunches and dinners, went to zoos, museums and tea gardens and shopped in jtown. some of my favorite memories growing up came from my visits with him.
grandpa, gpa- i will miss you so so much. you reminded me of myself, and i am certain i reminded you, of you. stubborn as hell, headstrong, and driven. they are also my best qualities. at 93, you survived covid and a pandemic and remained resilient until the end. i hope i become half the person you were. i love you❤️🕊
(swipe for his many fun adventures over the years😊)
