October 2007 I didn’t have a lot going on. My only hobby was sitting on a barstool. I needed a change. @nicklamagnainvest had been training at @serrabjjacademy for about a year. I told him I wanted to give it a shot. He got me set up for an intro lesson. I had no idea what I was doing. I hadn’t done anything remotely athletic since high school. After my first class I was completely exhausted physically and mentally but I knew I had to go back. I became obsessed with the sport. Today @mattserrabjj gave me my black belt. It is such an honor and privilege to be a part of his team. I’m so thankful to him and all of the @serrabjjacademy instructors and training partners that have been so patient with me and so great to hang out with. I can’t thank @nicklamagnainvest enough for getting me on the mats all those years ago and for being a constant source of inspiration and motivation. #bjj #mma #ufc #serrabjj
