Beekeeping has taught me many precious lessons about life, community, self reliance, respect, honour, nature, healing, and so much more. The wisdom of these little creatures is amazing, still captivates me every time, I am ever learning from them! I have 5 swarms. 4 have been extended families of the one original hive. My most recent swarm I caught myself for the first time, of which the queen has not yet been marked and named. I’m soo excited to open the new thriving box and search for her next time I tend the bees. The 4 other queens are marked in beautiful blue. There names are Nefertiti, Moses, Rapunzel and Water Lily. My husband laughs at me calling one queen Moses. Any ideas for the name of my 5th queen? Harvesting the honey has been overflowing in abundance this year! If you’ve visited my home recently you may have been blessed with a bucket of deliciousness to take home. My personal favourite has been the Jasmine Tulsi honey, but we have also extracted Macadamia Lavender honey last time which has been nice too!
