Vagus nerve stretches for anxiety, depression + mental wellness ✨
The vagus nerve is the longest nerve of the autonomic nervous system and also oversees the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, sending messages of anxiety or calm to the brain. 🧠It is the longest cranial nerve, extending from your brain stem to your abdomen. The vagus nerve is your body’s superpower and it’s used to counteract your fight/flight system to develop a healthy stress response and become resilient. Toning your vagus nerve will build up resilience in your body and send more loving compassionate feelings from your brain to your body so you can take on more and be at your brightest, most expansive.
Here are my favorite ways for toning my vagus nerve:

•Seated cat cow & hip circles💫
•Neck stretches
•Belly tapping👐
•Thumb to belly press
•Torso stretch
