Step into a world of children from all around the globe playing musical chairs, flying kites, skipping stones, practicing, building sandcastles and rolling in the snow shown on the more than 30 suspended screens. Francis Alÿs’ remarkable exhibition Children’s Games points out that play is a fundamental human trait and that it has enjoyed evolutionary priority throughout the history of mankind – despite the sometimes banal expressions of play and the notion that play is ‘just for fun’.
