One year ago I could of never imagined being at a place where I felt comfortable enough with myself and sharing my story.. I have lived so long hiding who I truly was from the world, thinking no one would ever accept how I felt. Coming out was the hardest thing I have ever faced, but the support of all my friends and family helped not only ease my fears of transition but also helped me start to accept and love myself. I am so lucky to have such amazing people in my life that truly support me. I can’t explain the feeling of relief I felt realizing I didn’t need to move away and start a new life just to be myself. This video project is a glimpse into the past year skating and coming to terms with being transgender. I know I still have a long road ahead but for the first time ever I am at peace with myself and looking forward to the future. Anyone that is struggling with coming out just know you are not alone.
