To everyone who ever asked what it was like to work with Virgil all I ever answered was, “I wish everyone knew” Because for me it was never about the work but for all the doors he was trying to open by doing as much as he did. That to me was the most intricate, beautiful and truly impactful. REAL DESIGN was the REAL ETHOS and it was all about showing that it is possible. In a world in which we are often told what to do and how to do it, he always did the opposite and pioneered in doing just that. In every interaction, Virgil did what no one ever does. Virgil believed and willingly empowered everyone because he was interested in everyone succeeding. Because he was the best Leader that there was. Because a true leadership begins with trust and not by asking for permission to come in. Virgil is the person we needed to show the world there is a reason to exist in the now. Hoping his legacy and what he believed in will last for as long as one can remember. Last conversations at the studio focused heavily on the idea of “THE GATEKEEPER” and today I feel like “VIRGIL” might be the most appropriate concept as an opposite – Humble, courteous and truly inclusive.
