Football is a team sport. You need to be on the same page as your team mates so passing is crisper, movement is coordinated, and set pieces are more fluent. But in contrast, I believe you need to be selfish. Before you can work as part of a team, you must be able to handle yourself. Movement is the most important aspect of football. If you can’t move well, you may as well give up - I don’t care how good your passing is, or how accurately you can finish. Movement underpins everything - and with movement comes the ability to handle forces, confidence that you can trust your body, which directly impacts decisions in a game. Be selfish.
