It was all I was able to feel for months afterwards, but the beauty of it was the fact that I had something to put my grief into. I have discovered that a lot of my healing as a person began when I started writing music in 2020 and now I realize that the songs I write carry things for me so I don’t have to. They are like snowglobes. A picture, a memory contained within itself that I can pick up and look at and listen to when I need too. But then I can put them back on the shelf and I don’t have to bare the weight of my pain alone. This is the most vulnerable song I’ve ever released and though It’s been rough reliving the grief I experienced, It’s also been healing and satisfying knowing I was able to make art with my pain. More than anything, I feel my power as an artist.
