I made a chopped cheese sandwich using @ingredientsbysaputo ‘s melty plant-based Cheddar Flavoured Slices. You can find their range of cheesy flavoured dairy-free options in grocery stores across Canada, keep an eye out! This sandwich is incredibly easy to make and extremely satisfying. I’m excited to try their plant-based Mozzarella Flavoured Shreds in my creamy pasta sauces and their plant-based Parmesan Flavoured Shreds as a topper before eating! #ad Here is what you will need to make this Vegan Chopped Cheese Sandwich : Two 6-9inch submarine bread rolls (optional to toast them) 1 tbsp neutral flavored oil 100g Diced red onions 340g Vegan mince or burger patties equivalent to that weight 1⁄2 tsp Sazon seasoning or all-purpose seasoning (If you can’t find sazon) 1 tsp black pepper 2-4 slices of plant-based cheddar depending on how much cheesy flavour you desire (I used @ingredientsbysaputo@Ingredients by Saputo ‘s plant-based Cheddar Flavoured Slices for a good melt) For garnish: Sliced tomatoes Shredded iceberg lettuce The sauce is a mixture of equal parts ketchup + vegan mayo with a small amount of sweet relish (you can make as much as you need) Method: Bring the oil to medium heat in a large non-stick pan then sauté the onions until translucent. Add in the vegan mince then with the help of a spatula, chop/break the vegan mince apart into small bits then allow it to cook until brown. Mix in the sazon and black pepper then add in the cheese slices and cover the pan for 3 minutes to allow the cheddar to melt. Uncover the pan then mix in the melted cheddar. Cut you the bread rolls lengthwise, leaving the rolls intact at the bottom to stop the mince from falling through.
