Along our journey with @indigenous.tourism.alberta we stayed at the @overlanderlodge where we had the pleasure to meet with Lauren Moberly, the owner/operator of @fallen_mountain_soap out of Grande Cache Alberta. Lauren is a direct descendent of the Indigenous people who were evicted from their home in what is now Jasper National Park. Through the telling of her people’s story and the making of soap using traditional methods and important plant medicines, Lauren is helping to remove a stain that has long sullied the fabric of the nation they came to call Canada. Lauren’s story is but one of the truths that must be told along the road to reconciliation. Most importantly, it must be heard. There is a growing appetite for Indigenous experiences. And there are people like Lauren who are delivering them coupled with conversations designed to bring us all together so that we can move this country forward in a manner that better suits the narrative it told you was the truth. We can be so much better. Because we are so much better. Together. #wearealltreatypeople ♾♾♾♾♾♾♾♾ 📹: Joe Urie #indigenoustourism #indigenoustourismalberta #truthandreconciliation #weareourstories #allmyrelations #wahkotowin
