New York has been a home away from home to this immigrant..where I rely on my friends turned family to fill that void, and boy do they fill it! But like I said in my last post around Diwali is when I yearn for the motherland the most!When I miss my entire street being shut down because it's the festival of lights...when I wake up to some serious scrubbing and rubbing and washing of the front yards..when everyone brought out their fineries - both diyas and silks! When we couldn't wait for the sun to go down because that meant the entire city lit up and sparklers came out! But last night was the most special celebration I have had in this city. Celebrating Diwali with Mayor Eric Adams, bringing the roof down with @awwwnchal who I so admire, meeting all these amazing creatives and entrepreneurs who I now call friends. It’s all a dream! And here’s to dreaming on and dreaming big! Thank you for being here for it all and following along this insane journey of mine. Maalicious would be nothing without your support.
