#Repost @nikolajkunsthal New Exhibition: Nikolaj – Københavns Kunsthal 40 år * Zoom #1 * @uffeisolotto - Sekaleht: An Architect of a Cathedral * Uffe Isolotto’s work refers to Skriver & Skeel’s video Tears/Choices from 1989 in both an aesthetic, temporal and thematic way. The video’s focus on the aesthetics of the shopping culture of the late 80s in this work is translated into a construction of chrome pipes that resemble the changing room of consumer culture as well as slaughterhouses and scaffolding. The work is a part of Isolotto’s large project Sekaleht which is an artistic exploration of the history of the Lakes in Copenhagen. Using equal parts local historical source material and subjective association processes, different geographical points are unfolded in a wide range of media which are parts of a larger cohesive world. Sekaleht: An Architect of a Cathedral is the first instalment in the project. Uffe Isolotto (b. 1976) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2007 and has participated in exhibitions both at home and abroad, including Arken, Den Frie Udstillingsbygning and Malmö Konsthall. In 2022, he will represent Denmark at the Venice Biennale. Isolotto lives and works in Copenhagen. We look forward seeing you at Nikolaj Kunsthal – hopefully in a very near future!
