I am very happy to have collaborated with Tmagazine New York Time to photograph Demna. This is the first time I photograph a person with a mask. I was immediately attracted by this situation that I suddenly found right. I was photographing somebody I did not know who make me feel this strange strangeness of which Freud describe. At the same time familiar and strange a feeling of distance and an immense familiarity . I found it pleasant that Demna wanted to hide his face and his soul from people he did not know . I always thought that a photograph should show what is hidden rather than what is visible . I enjoyed feeling his body language and also finding interesting situations in his environment like this painting which evokes a mirror effect.
