One week of bears, rattlesnakes, paddling, rowing, fishing, pausing, exploring, trout, lessons, storytelling and love. Choosing to go on a 7 day rafting trip down Hells Canyon with the kids and no Nick was not an easy decision for me, I felt an immense amount of pressure in the kids well being and wasn’t sure I could handle all the “what ifs” alone- and this trip certainly tested it/ bears literally in our camp (6+), rattle snakes we caught and moved in buckets, scorching temperatures and a cooler that didn’t work. BUT I was amazed at the tribe of parents I was with and the shared responsibility of everyone’s well being. Not only did every obstacle get met with enthusiasm and joy- but everyone had time everyday to do things they enjoyed- for me it was paddling with Tucker and catching 60+ fish! I also watched the kids play endlessly on the water with 5 other kids- all within 2 years of eachother. My cup is full, and my confidence in overcoming intimidating scenarios is better then it was 7 days ago- Thank you to Macy and Amanda for kidnapping me and for the much needed disconnect. #uncompromised
