Listen ,when it comes to these two I don’t ,and won’t, play. One thing my mom always told me was to never dim my light for the comfort of others. And I will NEVER do that. I always would dress the way I felt and express myself through my hair, and knew that ,no matter what room I walked into, I would have to have the upmost confidence.And now ,raising daughters ,I want them to feel the same. Being that there are very few kids of color they can associate or relate too, I never want them to feel like they have to dumb down who they are. Even at a young age, I want them to feel loved, self-validated and worthy of everything they want to go after in life!
