DISCOVERING LONDON’S HIDDEN GEMS: EP 11 - The world’s first Nigerian Tapas restaurant 💎
AD PR Chop, chat and chill. That’s the motto at @chukusldn, a Nigerian Tapas restaurant based in Tottenham 🇳🇬
Their menu consists of small plates centred around authentic Nigerian dishes and cuisines. They are designed for sharing with friends and family, allowing you to pick a variety of dishes and experience a range of Nigerian flavours in a unique and modern way!
THE ORDER:
🇳🇬 Egusi Bowl
🇳🇬 Caramel Kuli Kuli Chicken
🇳🇬 Lamb Asun
🇳🇬 Honey Suya Prawns
🇳🇬 Sinasir and Miyan Taushe
🇳🇬 Jollof Quinoa
🇳🇬 Dodo
🇳🇬 Chin Chin Cheesecake
One thing about Nigeria: Najia no dey carry last. We strive to ‘finish first’ so being the world’s first Nigerian Tapas restaurant is pure Nigerian excellence 👏
My fave and must-order dishes of the meal are the Egusi bowl, Caramel Kuli Kuli Chicken and the Sinasir and Miyan Taushe. The Egusi bowl is probably the most traditional dish on the menu and very close to what I grew up eating 🫶
As a seriously underrated cuisine, restaurants like Chuku’s do an amazing job at introducing authentic Nigerian flavours to those who have never experienced them. If you’re a bit intimidated by trying traditional Nigerian dishes (which you shouldn’t be!), then introduce yourself through these tapas dishes.
Despite amazing success and industry recognition, they are currently facing a battle to keep their doors open. Please save this, go make a booking and support Chuku’s so we can continue enjoying their delicious Nigerian small plates! 🤝
