“What did you do to your face? It’s not pretty anymore.” “This is not a big problem...” “Don’t think about your acne..” Some of the unsolicited advice I have been receiving lately. My heart and confidence sank a little bit — but don’t worry, I didn’t let it get to me for long 😅 May not be the harshest words for me, but it could be for some people that are going through the same thing. Those who are not going through it will never understand the process, patience (+ mixed emotions in between), work, trust, and time put into dealing with acne; something on your face that people consistently see and for some reason one cannot get rid overnight and may even continuously get for whoever knows how long 🤷🏻‍♀️ So please, the next time you see someone with what you know could be their biggest insecurity, be kind to them and don’t point it out. I’m sure they are working on it. Instead, encourage and uplift them.
