💔 IDK where to begin bc he was always there. Uncle Ricky was the coolest, wisest, and most consistent supporter I've ever had. His sudden passing at home yesterday is heartbreaking, and not just for me. He and my mom have an inseparable bond, and he loved me and Les like his own. Uncle Ricky accepted ALL of our friends as his own. If you knew us, he showed up for you. He'd want me to share our stories: from why he let me drive his vintage Rolls as a teen (so I'd never be impressed by no one & nothin) to who he bragged to about me (from Will Smith and Prince to the White House). Even how he built a middle school for my brother, became a type 1 diabetes expert and healthier than ever, attended countless NAACP Image Awards with the forever fam, brought fresh food during my half dozen surgeries, match-made for my favorites Miguel and Naz.... and (most importantly!!!!!) how much fun he'd been having at the Collective PAC brunch and NAB. But he's better at the storytelling. Uncle Ricky's *incredible* talents as a filmmaker, photographer, and all handy things means his legacy lives on. IYKYK! So much content!! I hope to hear "You've reached Ricky Clay Studios" in my head forever. Uncle Ricky, you were always by my side. It was my honor to watch over yours yesterday. Keep close and take your rest. 🤍🕊 P.S. Details to come in the following days/weeks. Special thank you to Takashi and family, my dad's family, the Jordan family, and everyone who checked in. And damn, LA feels so lonely already. 🙇🏾‍♀️
