Browned Butter Sage Gnocchi with Walnuts 💚
Ingredients
500g homemade or store-bought potato gnocchi
15g unsalted butter
Sauce
100g salted butter
50g walnuts
18 sage leaves
Boil your homemade or store-bought gnocchi in 2L of salted water, until it floats to the top. Remove and drain with a slotted spoon.
Heat a tablespoon of butter in the pan over medium-high heat. Once nearly melted, add the gnocchi in two batches in a single layer in the pan. Cook, stirring the gnocchi occasionally, until lightly golden brown, about 3 minutes. Transfer to a large plate and repeat with remaining gnocchi.
Heat the salted butter in a small pan over medium-low heat. Once melted, add the walnuts and sage leaves. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3-5 minutes or until sage is crisp and butter is a light amber colour with small specks of brown.
Portion the pan-fried gnocchi into 2-3 bowls and pour over the burnt butter sauce.
