Weekends have always been notoriously hard for me on my wellness journey. It’s like I: Meditate all week and then totally throw it out the door come Saturday. I get 10k steps every day and once the freakin weekend rolls around, it’s like steps? Who said that?! I hit my macros like a pro Monday - Friday and Saturday and Sunday become a freak show, sometimes eating under, sometimes eating over. This is why I say that our wellness journey is FAR from linear and constantly showing us parts of ourselves, that we’d rather keep hidden. One of my goals this year was to get really intentional about my weekend and I’m proud to say that it’s been working! Here are some tips for you to get through your weekend, have an amazing weekend and still stick to your wellness goals: 1. Have a plan for your food. I know, broken record, but you should have at least a general idea of what you’re going to be eating and when, especially if you gonna be in these streets. 2. If you drink 🍹 keep it to clear liquor and soda water with fruit, NOT tonic. One glass of water per drink. 3. If you 💨 🐉 HAVE SNACKS ON SITE! I can’t stress this enough. Have fruits nearby and make sure one of your meals is ready to go, so uber eats doesn’t get your money and you wake up in a pile of crumble the next day, like who don all disss. 4. Don’t isolate yourself. I’ve gone through phases on my journey where I felt like I had to isolate myself to stay on track, but that’s not realistic nor is it fun. This is a lifestyle change, not a diet or a fad and with this shake up, we must learn how to socialize and be apart of society without burning all our hard work to the ground!
