It’s #BlackHistoryMonth! Do you know the story behind the namesake of the Heman Marion Sweatt Courthouse? Sweatt sued the University of Texas in 1946 when he was denied admission to the law school because of his race. The case went to the U.S. Supreme Court and ultimately laid the groundwork for desegregation of public schools. The Travis County Courthouse was renamed in honor of Sweatt in 2005.
