This tune is called Going Home (The Theme from Local Hero). It’s a Geordie anthem, originally played by the late great Michael Brecker (there’s not really much argument that he was the greatest saxophone player to have lived), so I jst love it that Brecker’s saxophone echos around our city every week when @nufc walk on to their grassy stage at St James’ Park. It was written by Geordie master musician @markknopfler and Iv always loved playing it. I remember playing it at school once. I played it on Tynemouth beach to stop a massive brawl at a beach party about ten years ago after a Kush gig, two lads beating the shit out of each other then I start playin Local Hero and they start hugging, that’s jst sheer power of music.
