✨THE BEST THINGS I ATE IN NOVEMBER IN LOS ANGELES (& NEW ORLEANS & LAS VEGAS)✨
1️⃣ New Yorker Pizza @ Pizza Rock, Downtown Las Vegas @pizzarocklv
New York-style pizza outside of New York is usually a no for me, but this one deserves all the awards it’s won.
2️⃣ Chinese BBQ Pork @ Little Fatty, Mar Vista LA @littlefattyla
This insanely tender and flavorful pork with bao buns is a must try — but beware of the spicy mustard on the side 😤
3️⃣ Praline Beignets @ Loretta’s Authentic Pralines, New Orleans @lorettaspralines
The best sweet beignets I had in NOLA thanks to the rich praline center.
4️⃣ Pappardelle Genovese @ L’antica Pizzeria da Michele, Hollywood LA @damichelela @pizzeriadamichele
The pizza here is as good as what you’ll find in Italy (!), but I couldn’t stop eating this super flavorful short rib pasta.
5️⃣ Caesar Salad @ Retro by Voltaggio, Mandalay Bay Las Vegas @mandalaybay @bryanvoltaggio @mvoltaggio
Overall Retro’s food was very cool concept-wise but nothing special in taste, but surprisingly the Caesar with parmesan churros (!) was a real standout.
6️⃣ Spicy Honey Garlic Wing @ Urban Pocha, Pasadena @urbanpocha
This Korean fried chicken was drenched in a sweet and savory sauce yet somehow didn’t lose any crunch. Plus the portion was HUGE!
7️⃣ Blue Crab Beignets @ La Petite Grocery, New Orleans @lapetitegrocery
This was my favorite dish from my favorite restaurant in NOLA. Creamy and flavorful crab + crispy and airy shell = perfection!
8️⃣ Volcano Cup @ Farmhouse Kitchen, West Adams LA @thaifarmhouse
Obviously the presentation is INSANE, but I also loved the flavors of this elevated comfort dish especially thanks to the super tender short rib!
9️⃣ Bread Pudding Soufflé @ Commander’s Palace, New Orleans @commanderspalace
This was one of the restaurants that almost EVERYONE recommended in NOLA. All the food was excellent, but this unbelievably airy and fluffy bread pudding soufflé was the standout.
🔟 Fried Rice @ Alexander’s Steakhouse, Pasadena @alexanderssteakhousela
This fried rice with wagyu and popping tobiko was a surprise fave from an excellent meal.
